Valentin Bourgeois

Valentin is an associate at the firm, which he joined in fall of 2023 after more than seven years with the international arbitration team in Allen & Overy’s Paris office. He specializes in both commercial and investment arbitration. He also advises states and public entities on various aspects of public international law.

Valentin’s investment arbitration experience includes several ICSID cases:

  • Counsel for the Kingdom of Morocco in four ICSID arbitrations initiated by various investors in the telecoms, petroleum products and construction sectors
  • Counsel to the United Arab Emirates in an ICSID arbitration initiated by a Turkish investor, concerning a dispute relating to a construction site
  • Counsel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in an ICSID arbitration initiated by a Turkish investor, concerning a dispute relating to multiple construction projects
  • Counsel to the investor Bridgepoint in an ICSID arbitration against the Kingdom of Spain in the renewable energies sector

His commercial arbitration experience includes several arbitrations on gas price review in long-term contracts, representing the buyer.

Valentin frequently appears before national courts in all proceedings related to arbitration (juge d’appui, annulment, enforcement, etc.). He has extensive experience of enforcement proceedings, including those involving sovereign immunity issues.
