Acting as Arbitrator

Our founding partner frequently serves as an arbitrator or panelist, including as sole arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in several commercial arbitrations under the ICC Arbitration Rules. As a panelist we sit on international panels adjudicating inter-state disputes, including those established under free trade agreements such as NAFTA and its successor, the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement. This depth of experience offers valuable insight into how tribunals approach and navigate each stage of the arbitral process.

Our experience includes:

  • Panelist in a trade dispute under a regional free trade agreement involving anti-dumping measures in the forestry sector
  • Presiding arbitrator in an ICC arbitration arising from a post-M&A dispute in the life sciences sector, governed by English law with the seat in Geneva
  • Sole arbitrator in an ICC arbitration concerning sponsor funding obligations in an international investment fund insolvency, governed by Cayman Islands law with the seat in London
  • Sole arbitrator in an ICC arbitration involving cross-border funding commitments between European and North American parties, governed by French law with the seat in Paris
